The city
as a legacy.

Manifesto

A city is never finished. It changes, reinvents itself, and sometimes rediscovers what it had forgotten. MAIMO was born of this conviction: building the future begins with caring for what already exists, revealing its potential and giving it new life.

We see architecture as a connecting line - between the city and the living world, between the history of a place and its new uses, between the ambition of those who build and the lives of those who will live there.

Rather than a city that sprawls, we prefer one that renews itself: denser yet more breathable, where landscape regains its place and every transformation becomes an opportunity to rebuild connections. We believe in projects that reach beyond their own walls: those that repair a fragment of the city, bring back greenery, invent new uses and make desirable what seemed ordinary.

Alongside developers, property companies and public bodies, MAIMO aims to be a common house: a committed partner, present from the first intuition to the reality of the place. A house where architecture, engineering and development expertise meet; where perspectives are shared before decisions are taken.

Because building is not merely adding matter to the city. It is choosing what we want to pass on.

Our expertise

Transforming what exists.
Revealing its potential.

Every project begins with what is already there: a building, a plot, a neighbourhood, a landscape. The existing is not a limit to the project but its first resource. Our approach combines architecture, engineering and client-side expertise to reveal potential, weigh the options and set each transformation within a long-term vision of the territory.

Transform

Making the existing the starting point.

Refurbish, restructure and convert rather than erase. Every asset is a material to understand before transforming it: keeping what deserves to be kept, revealing what can be revealed, intervening where the project requires it.

Reveal

Seeing what a place can become.

The value of an asset lies in the possibilities it holds. We question programme, uses, architecture and context to bring out the scenarios that reveal this potential - in real-estate, architectural, urban and functional terms.

Connect

The project does not stop at the plot.

Every development belongs to a wider system: a street, a neighbourhood, a landscape, mobility networks, ecological corridors. We look for the relationships a project can create rather than the limits it must respect.

Inhabit

Building for what is yet to come.

A building only finds its meaning once it is inhabited. Before floor areas come uses: those that exist, those that evolve and those still to be invented. We design places able to accommodate what we had not foreseen.

Partners

Alongside those
who make the city.

Transforming a place is always a collective venture. Property companies, investors, land developers, public operators, developers and clients carry the responsibility of shaping our living environment. MAIMO chooses to stand at their side - not merely as an adviser but as a partner in the project - because the most relevant projects are born of an enlightened client, able to gather the right expertise around a shared vision.

Our services

From intention
to completion.

Depending on the project’s needs, MAIMO acts as adviser, assistant, project director or architect. Four types of services, one shared project culture - that of a team that thinks like a designer and decides like a client.
